Use the management-system cycle
ISO 14001 provides a framework for an environmental management system. Identify environmental aspects and risks, plan controls, train people, test arrangements and review what happened after exercises or incidents.
Evidence to keep current
- A site and drainage plan
- An inventory of substances and current safety data sheets
- Named responsibilities and escalation contacts
- Inspection records for containment and response equipment
- Exercise, incident and corrective-action records
Scope and certification
Equipment or a checklist alone does not establish conformity or certification. Check the current ISO publication and use a competent certification or environmental adviser for your organisation's requirements.
